Section of Railroad Avenue to Close March 27-30 for Reimann Industrial Center Rail Work
March 20, 2026
PASCO, WA. – The Port of Pasco and its contractors will construct a signalized railroad crossing on Railroad Avenue to serve the Reimann Industrial Center. To accomplish the project, a special four-day closure of a portion of Railroad Avenue is planned for March 27 through March 30.
The closure is necessary to provide a safe construction work zone at the project’s location: just North of Granite Construction and South of Darigold.
No through traffic will be allowed. Local access along Railroad Avenue is possible.
There are limited opportunities for vehicles to turn around within the construction area on Railroad Avenue; motorists must use Highway 395 and Kartchner Street as designated alternate routes for through traffic.
Crews will work day and night throughout the closure to install the signalized rail crossing and complete critical elements of the rail infrastructure serving the Reimann Industrial Center.
This work marks an important milestone in the Port of Pasco’s rail expansion at the Reimann Industrial Center. Once complete, the new infrastructure will connect the site directly to the BNSF rail network. It will provide essential infrastructure across the center’s 600-acre industrial site, helping position this area for continued manufacturing, food processing, and logistics growth in the region.
“Completing this connection is an important step for the Reimann Industrial Center and for the long-term economic development of our region,” said Stephen McFadden, Deputy Executive Director of the Port of Pasco. “This rail access point strengthens our transportation network and provides Darigold and future tenants with direct access to the Northwest Seaport Alliance via the BNSF Railway.”
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, follow posted detour signage, and allow extra travel time during the closure period.
